How can I discuss a quote?+
Call the relevant location number with your full postcode, waste types, approximate quantity and preferred date. Explain access restrictions and confirm the total quote and what it includes before booking.
What waste should I mention before booking?+
Describe all materials, including bulky furniture, electrical items, batteries, chemicals, liquids or anything that may need specialist handling. Only load materials that have been agreed for your collection.
Can I visit a listed address?+
The addresses are supplied location contact details. They have not been verified as staffed depots or public drop-off points. Please call the relevant number before planning a visit.
Are dates and availability confirmed online?+
No. This website helps you find the correct contact and prepare your enquiry. The service, accepted materials, dates, collection arrangements and full quote are confirmed directly by phone.
What skip sizes are usually available?+
Common UK skip sizes run from 2–3 yard mini skips for small clear-outs, through 4–5 yard midi skips and 6–8 yard builders skips for renovation waste, up to 10–16 yard skips for bulky, lighter loads. Heavy waste such as soil and rubble usually needs a smaller skip because of weight limits. Ask your local contact which sizes they can offer for your materials.
Do I need a permit to put a skip on the road in Birmingham?+
A skip placed on the public highway, including the road or pavement, needs a permit from Birmingham City Council. The skip company normally applies for it, and the permit can add cost and lead time. A skip on your own driveway or private land does not need a council permit. Mention where the skip will go when you call.
What can’t go in a skip?+
Items that usually cannot go in a general skip include asbestos, gas bottles, tyres, batteries, fridges and freezers, TVs and monitors, fluorescent tubes, paint, solvents, oils, chemicals and clinical waste. Plasterboard often has to be kept separate. List anything like this before booking so it can be handled correctly.
